Digital content & media

Deliver the file instantly. Keep the money for good.

Digital goods and media sellers (MCC 5815 and 5816) deliver in seconds and then wait months to find out whether the payment sticks. On-chain settlement closes that gap: the transfer is final when it confirms, so there is nothing left to claw back.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and travelling.

Disputes on files already delivered

Instant delivery is the whole product, and it is also why acquirers treat digital goods as an elevated dispute risk: the buyer has the file long before the dispute window closes, and a representment case rarely turns on proof of delivery.

Payments are pushed by the buyer rather than pulled from them, and a confirmed on-chain transfer has no reversal path.

Reserves held against a category, not against you

Underwriting for digital goods happens at the category level. A clean book of business does not necessarily remove the rolling reserve an acquirer applies to the MCC.

A settled on-chain payment is not a card-network dispute rail, so the category-level exposure an acquirer reserves against does not exist here.

Paying collaborators out of one lump settlement

A single sale can owe a creator, an editor, and a distribution partner. That split usually happens by hand, days later, once a batched settlement lands in one account.

Each sale settles to your wallet, final, at confirmation, so collaborators can be paid on timing you control, from your own wallet, out of money that has already landed.

Buyers everywhere, payouts nowhere near immediate

A digital catalogue sells across borders on day one, but paying an overseas collaborator still means a wire, a correspondent bank, and a spread you cannot bill for.

Paying a collaborator abroad is a USDC transfer you sign from your own wallet, with no banking intermediary in the path.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a travel booking settles through ZoynA traveller pays a booking link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.TravellerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn
1

Create the payment link

Set a fixed amount and a reference for the item, bundle, or licence. The link is yours to place in your store, your email, or your own delivery flow.

2

Buyer pays card or crypto

Hosted checkout takes either. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments are routed upstream through integrated global on-ramp bridges, so you never touch card data.

3

Split contract routes the funds

Shares are fixed in basis points when the contract is deployed: your share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, verifiable on a public block explorer.

4

USDC lands in your vault

Smart-contract vault settlement on Base L2, final after the required network confirmations, straight into wallets you control. Zoyn never holds it.

Where we can onboard you today.

Category

MCC 5815 and 5816 are supported categories in this group. Your declared category is checked at signup.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What digital content & media merchants ask first.

Can we bill subscribers monthly through Zoyn?

Not today. Zoyn issues fixed-amount payment links, not recurring charges, so a monthly plan means a new link for each period. If a repeating charge is essential to your model, that part of your stack stays where it is for now — nothing here pretends otherwise.

A buyer says the download never arrived. What happens?

You settle it directly with them, and if you decide to refund, you send the payment yourself from your own wallet. Nothing was pulled from the buyer's account, so Zoyn does not reverse it, and no card-scheme dispute fee applies to the outcome. Your own policy governs the refund instead of an acquirer's dispute rules.

Do you hold our revenue at any point?

No. Zoyn is not a payment processor and never takes custody of funds. Payments move from the buyer through a split contract into wallets you control, and the wallets a payment contract pays are fixed on-chain when it is set up.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is a software provider operating a non-custodial payment orchestration platform — not a payment gateway, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. Zoyn does not custody settled merchant funds or set provider reserve terms, and does not act as a merchant of record or money services business. Checkout and on-ramp providers may process or hold card- or bank-funded payments under their own terms before on-chain settlement reaches the merchant's nominated contract after required confirmations.

Direct merchant account onboarding supported across 64 verified global jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Global buyer checkout (USDC settlement) supported across 130+ countries via integrated on-ramp bridges; buyer-checkout coverage is determined by the third-party on-ramp providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: CU, IR, KP, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
