Pet care & veterinary

Treat the animal. Keep the payment.

Veterinary practices, groomers and pet retailers (MCC 0742 and 5995) take large, unplanned payments from clients under stress — and then absorb the disputes that follow weeks later. A payment that is pushed by the client and treated as final only after the required network confirmations ends that exposure.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and travelling.

Disputes on emergency treatment already provided

An out-of-hours bill agreed in a difficult moment gets disputed once the invoice is read again at home. On card rails the practice loses the funds first and argues afterwards, with a fee either way.

The client pushes the payment, and settlement becomes final once it confirms. Zoyn has nothing to reverse, so the treatment stays paid for.

Visiting specialists and labs paid separately

One case can owe the practice, a visiting surgeon or locum, and an external diagnostic lab — three invoices reconciled against one lump settlement.

The fee settles to the practice's wallet, final, at confirmation, so the visiting surgeon and the lab can be paid on timing you control, from the practice's own wallet.

Reserves against high, irregular tickets

A surgical bill is a large outlier against a practice's normal consultation ticket, and irregular high-value payments are what reserves and manual reviews are built to catch.

On-chain settlement leaves no card dispute exposure to reserve against, on any ticket size.

Deposits before a procedure that has not happened yet

Asking for a deposit ahead of surgery puts the money inside the acquirer's dispute window for as long as the case runs.

A deposit settles to your wallet on confirmation and stays there. Your consent and cancellation terms govern any refund.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a travel booking settles through ZoynA traveller pays a booking link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.TravellerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn
1

Create the link for the case

Set the amount and the case reference — a deposit, a treatment estimate, a discharge invoice.

2

The client pays their way

Card or crypto on a hosted checkout. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments clear upstream through integrated global on-ramp bridges, so card data never reaches the practice.

3

The split contract routes the fee

Proportions are fixed when the contract is deployed: the practice's share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, verifiable on a public block explorer.

4

USDC lands in wallets you control

Settlement into a smart-contract vault on Base, final after the required network confirmations. Zoyn is not in the flow of funds and never holds it.

Category

MCC 0742 and 5995 are supported categories in this group. Your declared category is checked at signup.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What pet care & veterinary merchants ask first.

Can we still refund a client if a procedure is cancelled?

Yes — you send it from your own wallet under your own terms. Because nothing was pulled from the client's account, the refund is a payment you choose to make rather than a reversal imposed on you, and there is no card-scheme dispute fee attached.

Does this handle insurance claims?

No. What ships today is fixed-amount payment links, hosted card-or-crypto checkout, direct-to-wallet USDC settlement and split contracts. Insurer claims and direct billing are not part of it, and we would rather be plain about that than imply coverage we do not have.

Who holds the money between the deposit and the discharge?

The practice does. Zoyn is not a payment processor and never takes custody — USDC settles straight to a wallet you control, and Zoyn never holds it.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is a software provider operating a non-custodial payment orchestration platform — not a payment gateway, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. Zoyn does not custody settled merchant funds or set provider reserve terms, and does not act as a merchant of record or money services business. Checkout and on-ramp providers may process or hold card- or bank-funded payments under their own terms before on-chain settlement reaches the merchant's nominated contract after required confirmations.

Direct merchant account onboarding supported across 64 verified global jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Global buyer checkout (USDC settlement) supported across 130+ countries via integrated on-ramp bridges; buyer-checkout coverage is determined by the third-party on-ramp providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: CU, IR, KP, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
