Book the shoot in January. Keep the deposit in January.

Photographers and creative studios (MCC 7221 and 7333) take deposits long before the shoot and deliver files that can be disputed long after. Both ends of that timeline are why card acquirers hold money back. On-chain settlement takes the timeline out of the equation.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and travelling.

Deposits taken a season ahead

A wedding booked a year out is paid for long before it happens, so the deposit sits inside the acquirer's dispute window for the entire wait. Reserves are the usual underwriting answer to long fulfilment.

The confirmed on-chain leg is not a card-network dispute rail, so the length of your lead time stops being an underwriting variable.

Disputes after the gallery is delivered

The files are downloaded and then the payment is questioned. On card rails the money is pulled back from the studio first and argued about afterwards, with a fee attached whichever way it lands.

Payments are pushed by the client, not pulled from them, so there is no reversal to defend, and representment does not apply on the on-chain leg.

Second shooters, editors and retouchers

One shoot can owe several freelancers, and they are normally paid weeks later out of a single lump settlement that has to be unpicked first.

The payment settles to your wallet, final, at confirmation, so second shooters, editors and retouchers can be paid on timing you control, from your own wallet.

Destination work, cross-border payouts

Paying a local fixer, assistant, or studio abroad means a wire, a correspondent bank, an FX spread, and days of float.

Paying a local fixer, assistant or studio abroad is a USDC transfer you sign from your own wallet, with no banking intermediary in the path.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a travel booking settles through ZoynA traveller pays a booking link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.TravellerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn
1

Create the booking link

A fixed amount for the deposit or the balance, with your own reference. Send it alongside the contract you already use.

2

Client pays card or crypto

Hosted checkout takes either. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments clear upstream through integrated global on-ramp bridges, so you never handle card data.

3

Split contract routes the funds

Shares are fixed in basis points when the contract is deployed: your studio's share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, verifiable on-chain.

4

Funds settle to your wallet

Smart-contract vault settlement on Base L2, final after the required network confirmations, into a wallet you control. Zoyn never holds it.

Category

MCC 7221 and 7333 are supported categories in this group. Your declared category is checked at signup.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What photography & creative services merchants ask first.

The client postpones. What happens to the deposit?

Your contract governs it, not an acquirer's dispute rules. If you agree to return some or all of it, you send that payment yourself from your own wallet. Because nothing was pulled from the client's account, Zoyn does not reverse it, and no card-scheme chargeback fee sits on top of the decision.

Can we take a deposit now and the balance on the day?

Yes — two fixed-amount links, sent when each milestone arrives. There is no card on file and no scheduled charge, which means the client authorises each payment at the moment it is due and you are not holding credentials between the two.

Who holds the money between the deposit and the shoot?

You do. Zoyn is not a payment gateway and never holds funds — settlement goes straight into a wallet you control. How you set that money aside before the shoot is your own bookkeeping decision.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is a software provider operating a non-custodial payment orchestration platform — not a payment gateway, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. Zoyn does not custody settled merchant funds or set provider reserve terms, and does not act as a merchant of record or money services business. Checkout and on-ramp providers may process or hold card- or bank-funded payments under their own terms before on-chain settlement reaches the merchant's nominated contract after required confirmations.

Direct merchant account onboarding supported across 64 verified global jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Global buyer checkout (USDC settlement) supported across 130+ countries via integrated on-ramp bridges; buyer-checkout coverage is determined by the third-party on-ramp providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: CU, IR, KP, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
