Money taken for a title that has not been printed yet is exactly the long-fulfilment shape acquirers underwrite hardest, and a rolling reserve is the standard response to it.
On-chain settlement becomes final once the transaction confirms, and the confirmed leg is not a card-network dispute rail over pre-order revenue.
Disputes on copies and digital editions already delivered
A book that has shipped or a file that has downloaded can still be disputed, and on card rails the funds come back out of the publisher's account before the case is heard.
There are no card-network chargebacks on the on-chain leg, and Zoyn does not reverse a confirmed transfer out of a title's budget.

Does this replace our royalty accounting?
No. Royalty accounting — escalating rates, reserves against returns, advances being recouped — stays exactly where it is. What changes is the money on each side of it: sales settle to your wallet with finality, so contributors can be paid from money that has already landed instead of waiting on a quarter-end settlement.
How do contributors get paid?
From your wallet, on your schedule — and outside Zoyn. Paying contributors is a USDC transfer you send from your own wallet; Zoyn is a payment-link platform and is not in that flow. What it changes is that the sales behind the payment are settled and yours the day they confirm.
Do you hold pre-order money until the book ships?
No — Zoyn never takes custody, and it is not an escrow service. The payment settles on-chain to wallets you control at the moment it confirms. If you want pre-order funds held separately until a title ships, that is a decision you make with your own wallets and your own bookkeeping.
