Telecom & utilities

Airtime is instant. Settlement becomes final on-chain after the required network confirmations.

Telecom and utility sellers (MCC 4814 and 4900) deliver value the instant a payment clears, which is precisely why card acquirers treat the category as elevated fraud risk and hold funds back. A pushed, final on-chain payment removes the exposure that the reserve was there to cover.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and travelling.

Instant delivery, delayed settlement

Airtime, data and service credit are consumed immediately and cannot be recovered afterwards. Acquirers price that irreversibility as fraud exposure, with reserves and delayed funding attached to it.

The on-chain leg is treated as final only after the required network confirmations, so delivering instantly no longer means carrying weeks of exposure for it.

Chargebacks on value already used

A disputed top-up cannot be un-spent. On card rails the funds are pulled back regardless, and the fee lands whichever way the case goes.

There are no card-network chargebacks on the on-chain leg, and Zoyn does not reverse a settled transfer once it confirms.

Reseller, distributor and operator shares

Distribution in this category is layered, and each layer is normally paid out of a pooled settlement days later, once someone has worked out who is owed what.

Each payment settles to your wallet, final, at confirmation, so distribution partners can be paid on timing you control, from your own wallet.

Cross-border collection for customers abroad

Someone paying for service in another country hits declines, an FX spread, and multi-day settlement before the credit can be applied.

Payment is by card in the countries listed on our Markets page, or crypto, on a hosted checkout, and USDC settles on Base to a wallet you control.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a travel booking settles through ZoynA traveller pays a booking link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.TravellerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn

Create the top-up or service link

A fixed amount per bundle, plan period, or account reference.

2

Customer pays card or crypto

Hosted checkout accepts both, and card-funded payments clear upstream through integrated global on-ramp bridges — card data never reaches you. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers.

3

Split contract routes the funds

Shares are fixed in basis points when the contract is deployed: your share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, verifiable on-chain.

4

USDC settles to your wallet

Smart-contract vault settlement on Base L2, final after the required network confirmations, into wallets you control.

Coverage

Where we can onboard you today.

Category

MCC 4814 and 4900 are supported categories in this group. Your declared category is checked at signup.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What telecom & utilities merchants ask first.

Can customers pay a monthly bill automatically?

Not through Zoyn today. Each payment is a fixed-amount link rather than a stored credential on a schedule, so automatic bill collection stays with your existing setup. What Zoyn suits is one-off top-ups, bundles, and per-period payments the customer initiates themselves.

Can we use this to send money to customers or between accounts?

No. Zoyn is not a money transmitter and does not support remittance, transfers between customer accounts, or anything else that amounts to moving other people's money. It collects payments for your own service and settles them to wallets you control.

What stops a sanctioned wallet from being paid out?

Every beneficiary wallet address you configure is screened against real-time on-chain compliance oracles when it is entered, and re-screened daily afterwards. Screening runs before funds are routed, so a hit stops the payout rather than flagging it after the money has gone.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is a software provider operating a non-custodial payment orchestration platform — not a payment gateway, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. Zoyn does not custody settled merchant funds or set provider reserve terms, and does not act as a merchant of record or money services business. Checkout and on-ramp providers may process or hold card- or bank-funded payments under their own terms before on-chain settlement reaches the merchant's nominated contract after required confirmations.
