Personal care & beauty

Take the payment the day of the appointment — and keep it.

Salons, barbers, and beauty retailers (MCC 7230 and 5977) run on shared revenue — commission, chair rent, room hire — paid out of card settlements that arrive in a later batch. Once on-chain settlement is treated as final after the required network confirmations, the day's takings are in your wallet the day you earn them.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and travelling.

Commission and chair rent reconciled a month late

One appointment owes the stylist and the salon. Card settlement arrives as a single lump, so the split becomes an admin job someone does later, from memory and a diary.

Each payment settles to your wallet, final, at confirmation, so stylists can be paid on the day, from the salon's own wallet, out of money that has already landed — not at month end.

Disputes on a service that was already delivered

The treatment is done and then the card payment is disputed. On card rails the money is pulled back from the salon first, with a fee attached however the case ends.

Payments are pushed by the client, not pulled from them. Zoyn does not reverse a settled transfer, so no card-scheme dispute process applies to the on-chain leg.

Independent stylists waiting on the salon to pay them

Self-employed operators carry the float while the salon's settlement clears and the pay run is prepared — a cash-flow problem the salon did not intend to create.

Your settlement reaches the salon's wallet after the required network confirmations, so the pay run no longer waits on an acquirer's batch — stylists can be paid on timing you control, from the salon's own wallet.

Deposits on long or high-value treatments

Taking a booking deposit weeks ahead puts the money inside the acquirer's dispute window, which is where reserves and delayed funding come from on service categories.

A settled on-chain payment is not a card-network dispute rail, so a deposit taken early is simply money you have.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a travel booking settles through ZoynA traveller pays a booking link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.TravellerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn

Create the link for the appointment

Set the amount and the reference — a deposit, a treatment, a retail purchase at the desk.

2

The client pays their way

Card or crypto on a hosted checkout. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments are handled upstream by integrated global on-ramp bridges, so you never touch card data.

3

The split contract routes the payment

Proportions are fixed when the contract is deployed: your share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, verifiable on a public block explorer.

4

USDC lands in a wallet you control

Final after the required network confirmations, ready for the day's pay run. Zoyn is not in the path and never holds the funds.

Coverage

Where we can onboard you today.

Category

MCC 7230 and 5977 are supported categories in this group. Your declared category is checked at signup.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What personal care & beauty merchants ask first.

Can stylists be paid in USDC too?

Yes — but outside Zoyn. Paying stylists is a USDC transfer you send from the salon's own wallet, on your own schedule; Zoyn is a payment-link platform and is not in that flow. What it changes is that the day's takings are settled and yours before the pay run, not sitting in an acquirer's batch.

What if a client cancels a booking they already paid a deposit on?

You refund from your own wallet, on the terms in your cancellation policy. Nothing was pulled from the client's account, so Zoyn does not reverse it, and no card-scheme chargeback fee sits on top of the refund.

What happens when someone's commission changes?

Nothing on-chain — how you divide service revenue between the chair and the salon stays your business arrangement. You change the amounts in the next pay run, which you sign from your own wallet, so a commission change is a spreadsheet edit rather than a contract event.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is a software provider operating a non-custodial payment orchestration platform — not a payment gateway, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. Zoyn does not custody settled merchant funds or set provider reserve terms, and does not act as a merchant of record or money services business. Checkout and on-ramp providers may process or hold card- or bank-funded payments under their own terms before on-chain settlement reaches the merchant's nominated contract after required confirmations.
