Getting started

Creating your first payment link

From an approved account to a URL a buyer can pay.

Payment links are the fastest way to get paid. Each link is a checkout URL on your own payment domain that you can share anywhere.

Create the link

  1. In the dashboard, open Payment links and choose New link.
  2. Give it a title (required) and, optionally, a description buyers will see at checkout.
  3. Enter the amount in your settlement currency — the currency your account settles in, shown on the form. Checkout requires a fixed amount per link.
  4. Optionally set Expires — 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or a date and time you pick. Leave it off and the link does not expire on its own.
  5. Create the link. Its URL is ready immediately.

Links are single-use: each one stops accepting payment after one completed payment. There is no cap to set — a "Max uses" field used to sit on this form and was removed when links became single-use.

Share it

Copy the URL from the link detail page, or show the QR code there for in-person payments. The buyer opens the URL, pays on your own domain, and the payment appears under Payments in your dashboard.

What you need first

Three things, and the dashboard tells you which one is missing:

  • Your checkout account connected and valid — you connect it after approval.
  • Your payment contract active — Zoyn sets it up; there is nothing for you to do but wait.
  • Your payment domain verified, under Settings → Domains. Buyers check out on your own domain, so link creation is refused until it is active. This is the step most often outstanding — see Setting up your payment domain.

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
