Payment problems — No merchant account

Take payments without a merchant account.

No card account from a bank, or turned down for one? You can still send the people you work for a link to pay you, and the money settles to a wallet you control. Every application is still checked before it goes live.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 10 we refuse.

Who this is for

Three ways a business ends up with no way to be paid online.

You're just starting, and there's nothing to show yet

A bank setting up card payments for a business often wants to see a trading record, past statements or a long list of documents. A new business has none of that, and waits.

You applied, and they said no

Sometimes the answer comes with no reason at all. You still have work to be paid for, and the next application looks just like the last one.

You only need to be paid now and then

A few invoices a month, or a deposit here and there, doesn't justify a card machine, a contract and a monthly bill. You just want the person you did the work for to be able to pay you.

What you get instead

A link for a fixed amount, and a wallet only you control.

Each link asks for one payment of the amount you set. When your customer pays, the money settles to a wallet you control, after the required network confirmations. There is no card machine to rent and no monthly platform fee.

Two limits worth knowing, in the same breath. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And if your customer pays by card, the payment can be declined, or they can be asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent. That is a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

Apply, send a link, get paid.

1

Apply once

Tell us what you sell and where you are. Every application is reviewed before it goes live, and we don't promise a date.

2

Send a link for the amount

Once you're live, create a link for a fixed amount, with your invoice or order number as the description, and send it by email or message.

3

The money reaches your wallet

Your customer pays from their own crypto wallet, or by card where available. Settlement reaches your wallet after the required network confirmations.

Common questions

What people ask when they have no merchant account.

Do I need a merchant account to use this?

No. You don't open a card account with a bank to send a link. You apply to us once, and once you're live you can send links. If most of your customers pay at a counter, you may still want a card machine for those sales; this is a way to be paid by link.

Is this a merchant account?

No. It is a way to send someone a link for a fixed amount, and have the money settle to a wallet you control.

I was turned down for a merchant account. Can I apply here?

Yes, you can apply. We can't tell you why someone else said no, and we don't promise we'll say yes. We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and exactly what we look at.

My business is new. Can I still apply?

Yes. The application doesn't ask how long you've been trading, and it doesn't ask for past card statements or a tax ID. A sole trader with no company can apply too.

Can my customers pay by card?

Where available. Buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks. A customer who holds a crypto wallet can pay from it instead.

What does it cost me?

One per-transaction fee, starting at 0.75%, agreed with you in writing before you go live. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any card-processing costs charged by the checkout partners, are separate and shown at checkout.

Get paid by link, with no merchant account.

Apply today, and once you're live each payment settles to a wallet only you control after the required network confirmations. Every application is reviewed.
