Payments for computer repair shops

A deposit for the part, the balance when they collect the laptop.

Laptop and desktop repair, hardware repair depots, mail-in repairs and home visits all have the same two moments: before you order the part, and when the machine goes home. Send each as one link, and settle stablecoins straight to a wallet you control.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 10 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

A machine on your bench is money you've already spent.

You order the part before the customer has paid for the repair

A new screen, a keyboard, a board-level part for an older model: you order it in, and if the customer never comes back, the part sits on your shelf and the cost is yours. So you ask for a deposit first.

Send a link for the part deposit, and a second link for the balance when the repair is done. A deposit taken this way is a full payment, not a card hold, so if you ever return any of it, that is a payment you send back yourself.

The laptop arrives in the post, from someone you've never met

Mail-in repairs come from anywhere in the country. The customer can't hand you a card at the counter, and you don't want to post the machine back before the bill is paid.

Send the balance link when the repair is finished, and post the machine back once it is paid. Your customer pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

“My files are gone” or “it broke again” after the bill is paid

The machine went home working. A week later the same fault is back, or a folder can't be found, and the argument is about a bill that was already paid. When the customer paid by card, that argument can come back as a card dispute.

When your customer pays from their own wallet, they push the payment, and Zoyn does not reverse a settled transfer. A card-funded payment can still be subject to the provider's own dispute rules. Your repair terms decide what is owed; Zoyn has no refund button.

Your repair payments settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a customer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

Two links for one repair.

1

Book it in and send the deposit link

Fixed amount for the part, with your job number as the description.

2

Finish the repair and send the balance link

A second link for what's left. Your customer pays from their own wallet, or by card where available.

3

The money reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in.

Common questions

What a repair shop asks first.

Do I have to stop using my card machine?

No. Keep it for customers standing at your counter. A link fits the moments a card machine doesn't: the part deposit, the mail-in repair and the home visit.

Can one link take the deposit and the balance?

No. Every link is a single payment for a fixed amount, so the deposit and the balance are two links.

I also fix games consoles, screens and sound systems. Is that covered?

Yes, if it's repair work you do. Each job gets its own link, the same way, whatever the device.

What should I put in the link description?

Your job or ticket number. Keep passwords and anything you found on the machine out of it.

Is the money held anywhere before it reaches me?

A wallet payment goes to a wallet only you control after the required network confirmations. Two honest limits: a payment can be turned away before it reaches you if the checks on it do not pass, and while your Zoyn account is under review, Zoyn pauses automatic payouts to your wallet until the review is finished.

Direct merchant account onboarding supported across 64 verified global jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Global buyer checkout (USDC settlement) supported across 130+ countries via integrated on-ramp bridges; buyer-checkout coverage is determined by the third-party on-ramp providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice.
