Take the deposit that holds the berth, and the balance before the voyage sails.
Polar and Antarctic expedition voyages, remote small-ship itineraries, dive and wildlife expedition cruises, permit-limited landing itineraries, and bespoke and private expedition charters all take money a year or more before the ship leaves. Get paid in stablecoins straight to a wallet you control, and a payment from a customer's own wallet cannot be pulled back through a card dispute.
Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 10 we refuse.
Check yours in ten secondsA five-figure berth paid for this year, on a ship that sails next year, into conditions nobody can promise yet.
A deposit against a single, expensive berth is booked a year or more ahead of a trip that may not run as planned
A polar berth booked well over a year out commits a large sum against a trip whose actual conditions — ice, weather, permits — are not known until close to departure, and the traveller booking it is very often in another country from the operator.
Travellers can pay from their own wallet, or by card in countries where a card option is offered — whether a card works depends on where they are and on the card company's own checks. The money reaches your wallet once the payment has fully cleared, in the currency the link was set in.
A landing is missed for ice or a permit, and the disagreement arrives as a dispute after the voyage
A landing site is skipped because the ice will not allow it, a permit-limited site is reallocated to another vessel, or an itinerary is rerouted on the day — and the disagreement about what was actually delivered turns up as a card dispute long after the voyage and the money both looked settled.
The traveller sends the payment themselves, and Zoyn does not reverse it once it has cleared, so a payment made from a wallet cannot be pulled back through a card dispute. Your own booking terms govern itinerary changes on a voyage where conditions genuinely cannot be promised in advance, and the consumer-protection law that applies to your sailings decides what a traveller is owed. Zoyn has no refund button: any refund you owe is a payment you send from your own wallet. Someone who paid by card or bank can still raise a dispute under that company's own rules.
A single high-value berth, booked a year out, is exactly the shape a fraud model is built to stop
A five-figure deposit from a first-time overseas traveller for a trip that runs once a year is unusual by design — every expedition booking looks like the exception, because in this trade it is the rule.
Each berth is its own fixed-amount payment link, priced and sent by you, and the money reaches your wallet once the payment has fully cleared.
One link per berth, priced by you.

What an expedition operator asks first.
Can I take a deposit now and the balance closer to departure?
Yes — as two links, each a fixed amount. Every link is a single payment; there is no repeat or automatic billing.
Every voyage and cabin class is a different price — is that a problem?
No. Each link carries its own amount, set by you when you create it.
Can I put it on my own web address?
Yes — the checkout can run on your own payment address.
A traveller disputes the voyage after a landing was missed — what happens to the payment?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is checked before it goes live — we don't promise a timeline we can't keep.
